We found ourselves buying 10,000 litres of water every week, yet our avocado trees were still drying and dying. It was a challenging and frustrating time for us.
When the dry season returned, we decided to take a bold step. We expanded our dam, making it deeper and wider. This was an expensive endeavour, but it was necessary. Since then, for the last two years, we have had a consistent water supply.
Our experience taught us the invaluable lesson of water management in farming. It was a costly mistake, but one that has ensured the survival and growth of our avocado trees.
